Yes, there are regulations on general notary work pricing for the state of Nevada; there are exceptions for Loan Signing Agents specializing in loan documents.

A separate travel fee, agreed upon in advance with the signer is $15 per hour for travel between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. or $30 per hour for travel between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Why does the cost of mobile notary service vary?

The total cost of a mobile notary appointment can vary based on the number and type of notarizations required, the number of signers, travel distance, appointment time, and any additional services requested. Nevada law regulates the maximum fees a Notary Public may charge for notarial acts, while separate travel fees may apply for mobile service.

To provide an accurate quote, Pro Document Center may request that documents be sent in advance for review. This allows us to determine how many notarizations are required, identify the type of notarial acts involved, and understand the scope of the appointment before providing your final quote. Please do not complete or sign any documents that must be signed in the presence of the Notary unless instructed to do so.

Pricing will be discussed and agreed upon before your appointment is confirmed.

What identification do I need for my notary appointment?

Each signer should have an acceptable form of identification available at the appointment. A current government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state identification card, or passport, is typically the easiest form of identification to use. If your identification is expired, damaged, does not match the name appearing on your documents, or you do not have standard government-issued identification, please contact Pro Document Center before your appointment so we can determine what options may be available under Nevada notary law.

Does my document require witnesses?

Some documents may require one or more witnesses in addition to notarization. Witness requirements vary, depending on the type of document, the receiving agency, and applicable law. Pro Document Center cannot provide legal advice or determine whether your specific document legally requires a witness. Please review the document instructions or contact the document preparer, receiving agency, or an attorney if you are unsure. If your document requires witnesses, please advise us when scheduling your appointment. If witness assistance is available through Pro Document Center, additional fees may apply and will be disclosed in advance.

Should I sign my documents before the notary arrives?

Please do not sign any document that requires your signature to be witnessed by the Notary until instructed to do so. Certain documents may already be signed when an acknowledgment is performed, while others require the signer to sign in the Notary’s presence. When in doubt, leave the signature blank until your appointment.

Do my documents need to be completed before the appointment?

Documents should generally be complete and ready for notarization before the appointment. Please fill in applicable information before the Notary arrives, while leaving required signature and notarial sections unsigned or incomplete as appropriate. A Notary cannot determine what information should be entered into your document or complete legal documents on your behalf.

Can the Notary tell me which notarization I need?

A Nevada Notary Public cannot provide legal advice or choose a notarial act for a signer when that decision would constitute legal advice. If your document does not specify whether an acknowledgment, jurat, or another notarial act is required, you may need to contact the document's recipient, issuing agency, or an attorney for instructions.

What should all signers have ready for the appointment?

All required signers should be present, willing and able to sign, have acceptable identification available, and understand the document they are signing. Please also have any required witnesses present unless witness arrangements have been made with Pro Document Center in advance.

What is Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) for a Remote Online Notary appointment?

For certain Remote Online Notarization appointments, the identity-verification process may include Knowledge-Based Authentication, commonly called KBA. KBA asks a series of multiple-choice questions based on information associated with your identity and credit history. These questions are generated by the identity-verification provider and are not created, selected, or viewed in advance by the Notary. You must successfully complete the required identity-verification steps before the notarization can proceed.

What should I expect during identity verification for a RON appointment?

Before or during your Remote Online Notarization appointment, you may be asked to upload or scan an acceptable government-issued photo ID and complete additional identity-verification steps required by the RON platform. Depending on the platform and transaction, this may include credential analysis and Knowledge-Based Authentication. If you are unable to successfully complete the platform’s required identity-verification process, the remote notarization may not be able to proceed.

Can someone help me answer my KBA questions during a RON appointment?

No. Knowledge-Based Authentication questions must be answered by the signer without assistance from the Notary or another person. The Notary does not have access to the correct answers and cannot help a signer complete the identity-verification process.

Are there additional fees for Remote Online Notarization (RON)?

Remote Online Notarization pricing may differ from an in-person notarization. In addition to fees permitted for the notarial act, a RON appointment may involve technology, platform, credential-analysis, identity-verification, or Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) costs associated with completing the notarization electronically. The total price may also vary based on the number of signers and notarizations required. Any applicable fees will be disclosed before your appointment is confirmed.

How is the price of a RON appointment determined?

The price of a Remote Online Notarization appointment depends on the number and type of notarial acts required, the number of signers, and any applicable technology or identity-verification requirements. To provide an accurate quote, Pro Document Center may request a copy of the document in advance for review. Please do not sign any portion of the document that requires signing in the presence of the Notary unless instructed to do so.
